The Richmond Parcel Mapper is a map of the city of Richmond that “permits querying and display of real estate Parcels”, and can also be used as an interactive map of the various Council Districts.

I find it neat but I’d much rather have the old map. The old map is what I was basing my neighborhood map by. Microsoft isn’t that accurate. I still wish we had maps like Henrico, the best parcel maps around.
We saw the google maps car a couple weeks ago in Shelby, Montana – a fairly tiny town consisting mostly of the train station.
For some reason, we were all totally enthralled by the car, all covered with cameras and gadgets. It was kind of like seeing a four-wheeled movie star.
Shannon, that’s really cool, that you saw it! I can see being enthralled by the car, particularly in what sounds like a really tiny little town!
I wonder, did it venture out into the surrounding countryside out there? I mean, there are roads and farms with addresses outside of town, right?
And was there an actual human driving it?! For some reason Ive got this visual of it being robot driven with a human miles away giving it directions, like the moon and Mars rovers…
HA! I know what you mean. But no – there were real people involved.
And lots of farms and stuff. Spread very wide from each other.
Would have been fun to be the Googler in that area, cruising around the gorgeous countryside in the middle of the Rockies, gas paid for, nice Prius (yep, Prius :))
Might have to put it on my long list of fantasy jobs. I think we were all thinking that.
