Style spreads the word about Patrick Henry’s Pub
07/10/2008 4:52 PM by John M
Style‘s weekly restaurant round-up Short Order lets everyone know that Patrick Henry’s Pub & Grille is open:
The former Acappella, which closed last year, is in enthusiastic new hands. Owner Eric Warner, a longtime regular there, got to work on a major cleanup and menu redesign that’s “fresher and more cohesive – nothing frozen,” he says. “And we think we’ve solved the smoke problem” that used to annoy some customers. […] Upstairs, the dining rooms, newly painted and hung with artwork from Eric Schindler Gallery, are served by a new kitchen and chef, Nicolai Creatore, formerly of Kitchen 64, Kuba Kuba, Davis & Main and a six-year stint at Millie’s.

Several nights ago, our family enjoyed a really tasty hearty meal at the pub –so good at the moment I could care less about the ABC license. By the way their ice tea is very refreshing. Our older child ordered the prized dish, the New York strip plate loaded with my favorite goodies –sauteed fresh kale and made on premises potato gnocchi fried in butter. It must be the best gnocchi in town –I can’t stop thinking about it.
James, our waiter for the evening, was very attentive and funny and the chef, Nick, happily prepared a special order for our youngest finicky eater. Earlier in the day Nick had rolled the gnocchi himself.
We’re lucky to have such a wonderful neighborhood haunt.
Sounds like the gnocchi is the bomb! We must try it! We loved James as well…one of the better waiters we’ve had in quite some time! We can’t wait to go back! ABC isn’t a necessity but it sure would be nice but all in goood time…
