ACORN honors renovation, new construction
10/07/2008 9:23 PM by John M
ACORN held the 9th Annual Golden Hammer Awards Ceremony tonight at Seven Hills School in Northside. In addition to recognizing the previously announced 2008 special award winners, 1428 Bainbridge Street won for Best Residential Renovation, The National Theater won for Best Commercial Renovation, and The Reserve Condominiums won for Best Urban Infill. Congratulations!
Weird, but that is a misdirected link for 7HS. Takes you to the wrong Seven Hills. Never seen that in Google before.
Here is the actual link, for anyone who may be interested. http://www.7hillsschool.org/
7HS was very excited to have been asked to host this event, and displayed the boys’ architecture projects proudly for the gathering. The old Public Works building where we moved last year is an amazing restoration project, its own darn self! Well worth inquiring about for a tour, for anyone who is into that sort of industrial-meets-innovative style of design.
Fixed, thanks! I was watching the debate while I was putting this together so I was a little distracted, my friends.
Actually, when I clicked your hyperlink it gave the address of the school here, but when you clicked that address, it it was the address to the 7HS elsewhere. It wasn’t your doing. It was the google link.
Karazy.
Acorn is no better than any other money sqandering company. They do nothing but line their own pockets with goverment money from our taxes. Any award from them… consider it an insult.
Hey Conservative Gal,
The ACORN referenced here is the Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods . Are you sure that you know what you are talking about?
Obviously not! Didn’t this same studity surface in another post?
Ack!!! That God-Awful, Butt Ugly, Reserve Condos awarded best infill…. showing up again!?!?
The local A.C.O.R.N. may want to consider a name change since people can’t seem to understand they are not affiliated with that other ACORN.
Bill, did you mean “stupidity”? Pot, meet kettle…
Yes, I asked in another thread whether the organizations were linked. I explained I was fairly new to Richmond. Therefore, my query was born out of ignorance, not stupidity.
Oh, and I am not “Conservative Gal”. That poster is obviously a troll, or attempting to be a comedian.
