Sector 111 report for November

Lieutenant Laino’s Sector 111 report for November is available (PDF) and describes a 13% increase in major crime, though the jump is attributed to “the problems we have been dealing with in the Fulton Neighborhood with juveniles”. Laino says that the current trends are: Church Hill – theft from motor vehicles, Chimborazo – thefts related to motor vehicles and thefts from vacant or renovated homes, Church Hill North – burglary and thefts from vacant or renovated homes, Oakwood – no trends, and Union Hill – no trends.

There were 5 robberies reported this month compared to 3 reported in 2007. The incidents were spread out among the different neighborhoods, except for two which occurred in Fulton. Below is a brief synopsis of each incident:

1300 block of N 31st St – Tuesday November 11th at 8:00 pm – the victim was robbed of money, cell phone and prescription medication by 3 known suspects.

1000 block of N 35th St – Monday November 24th at 9:00 pm – the victim was robbed of money by 2 suspects as he walked to his residence after parking his vehicle. Suspect description: #1 black male light complexion wearing a black mask and armed with a silver handgun #2 black male dark complexion wearing a black mask and armed with a rifle.

800 block of Stony Run Road – Tuesday November 25th at 4:30 pm – the three victims were robbed of money, cell phones and keys by three suspects, one of which was armed with a black revolver. All three suspects were described as black males 5’4″ to 5’6″ 125 to 150 lbs approx 15 years’ old and wearing bandannas over their faces.

2200 block of E Franklin St – Friday November 28th at 2:14 pm – the victim was robbed of her pocketbook and its contents by a black male 6’1″ 200 lbs approx 30 years old and armed with a black snub nose revolver.

1300 Jennie Scher Road – Sunday November 30th at 1200 hours – the victim was robbed of jewelry at gunpoint by 3 suspects, one suspect was identified and has an outstanding petition on for his arrest.
