CHPN!?! Why post pics of illiterate garbage? Don’t take pictures-Get rid of that crud! That’s what I do on my block! Paebak? Who are his friends? Lahmongello and Ohrahngello? Seriously, I kid. We all know Paebak is a PHD candidate at VCU and is a law abiding taxpayer. Thanks for making our world a better place “Paebak”.
No kidding. This isn’t funny and it isn’t clever and I see no reason to post this kind of thing. It only encourages the next moron to do something similar.
We have enough trash and graffiti in this town as it is. Don’t make it seem like it has some kind of value as quite the opposite is true.
Take this picture off the site.
It is interesting that you see the posting of these photographs as endorsement of the graffiti.
Is this more likely to encourage the next person to do similar tagging or to motivate someone to go clean up?
No, keep it up on the site , John, and thanks for highlighting this crap which I’ve seen all over the place.
Why isn’t the City doing anything to clean up this stuff?
I think Paebak is the best tag name, I’ve seen yet. It’s very clever.
Amy N-B — I am with you.
clever and well done Paebak.
you uptight unfocused blabbering bloggers
with your complaints of clean up and crap and trash and morons blah blah blah –
you people really do not see what is the blight and hideous unconscious uncaring decay do you?
Whew and Amy N-B, thanks for your posts, I finally took the time to look at the pics as well as the tag. So, I guess the other folks think that boarded up buildings, dumpsters, and parking lots are great ‘urban green spaces’ or something like that and need to be cleansed of graffiti with a cool tag line….John, my thoughts are to leave it up and ignore the bloggers who don’t get the wry humor behind it. This isn’t normal graffiti, folks.
Maybe posting these pictures will inspire more of it; it could. Or, maybe it will get the tagger busted. Either way, it’s news. Putting it kindly, to denounce the posting of these pictures is rather silly. Reporting what has happened/is happening is hardly the same thing as endorsing it.
Should the Weather Channel only report good weather?
Uptight unfocused blabbering bloggers??? Whew… begging courtesy please. We’re all neighbors here and hopefully as we meet on the streets of fair Church Hill, friends. Personally, regarding graffiti, I’ve always seen it as someone pissing on someone else’s tree or assuming that every tree was yours to piss on. A bit disrespectful of the whole. Keep the pics up John. Love the statement. Love your photos.
Okay graffiti is beautiful. Go back to listening to NPR and buying gluten free products at Whole foods. I guess the “tagger” chose Paebak because the individual could not spell “Reparations”>
Whodat, between the Stepin Fetchit dialect in your screen name, the reparations joke and the trotting out of the tired old “Lahmongello/Ohrahngello” urban myth, you’re starting to sound like a race-baiting troll. Are you sure you’re on the right website — or, for that matter, in the right neighborhood?
WhoDAt, the little effort it takes for you to be negative is obvious. How sad.
# 6 “you people really do not see what is the blight and hideous unconscious uncaring decay do you?”
We see decay everyday and graffiti only increases it. I find the tag to be self righteous more so than clever.
However, I agree with Rea that Murden can’t just report “good weather.”
If “PAEBAK” is “very clever,” as it is called above, I suppose “FUKU” would be welcomed on every flat surface of our neighborhood as a demonstration of sheer genius.
I actually haven’t seen any PAEBAK tags, but there are certain sites where it would be an interesting choice … like on WhoDAt!’s house. Just saying……
