Husky puppy found on 29th Street
03/09/2009 11:29 AM by John M
Anyone missing a dog? I should have a photo up later.
We found a Husky puppy yesterday. He is black and white and was roaming around 29th and Marshall street. […] He has a collar, so I know he belongs to someone. The owners can call (804)643-5607 or (804)332-2479 and ask for Tom.
TAGGED: pets
I hope this Huskey finds his people. However, on the subject of dogs,I have to complain about the state of upper Chimbo. Either my husband or I walk our dog at least twice a day through Upper Chimbo and I have noticed that the amount of unscooped poop has gotten really really bad. I’m talking many large piles! I’m not sure if the culprits are dogs off their leashes/people not watching their dogs off their leashes, lazy scoopers, or what, but it’s got to stop. There was a time, pretty recently, when no dog-walking was allowed at all in Chimbo and I believe the poop was a big part of that. We are so lucky to have such a big park, so let’s keep it clean!
I saw this link on inrich.com, and just wanted to say I thought it was great that you’re reaching a wider audience.
How did they pick it up?
They’ve been pulling the feeds from a number of the more local sites for the past month or two. It has been kind of cool to get some more eyeballs on the site, but it has at times just meant having folks from outside the neighborhood getting kind of unhinged about baseball.
Ah but we do ‘unhinged’ so well…LOL
(hope the pup finds his owners)
unhinged? UnHinged? UNHINGED!
Wait a sec, Breathe, breathe, must remember to breath.
OK, I’m better.
Eyeballs are good. You should see the people getting unhinged about Toad’s over at InRich. Yikes!
BOW WOW WOW! I think I met this little Husky the other day when daddy and I were out playing in Ethel Merman Park at 28th & M. I think the little boy’s mama lives on Chimorazo, but I can’t be sure! Perhaps some flyers posted in that ‘hood would help! BOW WOW WOW WOW!
by “husky,” do you mean big-boned/chubby/fatty? or is that the breed?!
Amy, I’ve noticed it, too, and can think of several people who let their dogs go in the park but don’t pick up the poop. It makes walking through the park a nuisance!
hello…i live on chimborazo and i’ve seen that same puppy running loose many times, and have tried to get inside to get a leash so that i can get it off of the street…only to find it gone when i get back outside. kudos to you for rescuing the poor guy, i don’t think the owners are very present…i have seen some kids running after the dog before, but usually he is flying solo. i have taken in a few dogs and relocated them in the past year, and i know that the shelters are very full. i wouldn’t think you were a bad person if you ahem relocated the puppy since it obviously is neglected. or very very smart insofar as fencing goes.
Does it need a home? My college age son has been looking for one. We would give it a great home. Thanks ~
