Have you seen Oliver?

Oliver, a 4-year-old white Maltese, was last seen Sunday March 22 running after a groundhog on Libby Hill. He is extremely friendly and will go with anyone; his cat and mother miss him. REWARD. Call (804)775 -0125 if you have any info.
Great pics – what’s with the sudden rash of missing pets? I’m sorry this has happened and will definitely keep an eye out for Oliver.
Oliver’s owner was asked a number of times not to let her pet wander around the park. I’m sorry to hear he is missing and hope he is found soon.
I am so sad to hear Oliver is missing. I will keep an eye out for him. Hope is returns home safely and quickly…..such a sweet dog!
BTW Mary Anne, perhaps not the right time to be so rude….was that comment really necessary?
Actually, Marybeth. . .the owner had been warned not to let him run loose in the park MANY times and NOT because he might be picked up by someone that thought he was “cute” but out of concern he’d fall into the hands of local thugs (who’ve been involved in dog-fighting in the counties long before anyone had ever heard of Michael Vick.) Sorry to be rude in spelling it out for you and other readers but I’ll gladly accept any criticism for being rude and direct if it makes someone think twice before letting their pet run loose in this neighborhood. I truly do hope Oliver is fine and will be returned to his owner as soon as possible.
Mary Anne = the Sunday that Oliver was last seen was the Irish Festival, weekend. I don’t think anyone would let an animal or thing loose during those two days. I was in my back yard weeding. When I opened the gate to throw my pile over the hill Oliver saw two groudhogs and dashed out before I could grab him. Several minutes later when I left the alley he was not around as he always is after running after a cat when I work out there. He either went down a groudhog hole (there are some quite large ones in the 43 that I counted) or sprinted down below me to Main Street which he has never done..He would have had to go past me to get to the Park. This is why I thought he was still hunting the groundhogs.
i know i have been quilty of letting out the “mayor of Libby Park” to make his rounds but this time I really was not to blame. Thank you for understanding.
Cathy,
I’m sorry for sounding off on this topic when you’ve lost Oliver and I know you will keep him close by when he is found. If there is anything I can do to help find him, please do not hesitate to let me know. If you have reported him missing to Richmond Animal Care and Control I’d suggest you pay a visit to the shelter every week to make sure he isn’t accidentally labled as a brown or black dog because his white coat is dirty from digging up groundhogs. Let me know if I can help out, okay?
Thanks Mary Anne – good thought about the dirty dog color.I will also keep his microchip registered for many years -he has to go to the vet someday.
Keep your chin up Cathy. I know this has to be heart breaking not knowing where he is. I’m checking out every white dog I see – I’ll be looking for a gray one now too.
Any word on Oliver??
Just keeping the thread active – any word on Oliver?
