Sector 111 report for March
Lieutenant Laino’s Sector 111 report for March (PDF) is available, with more than the usual amount of detail and drama:
3/29 – 800 block of N 26th St – Church Hill North – at approximately 4:30 am the victim was at the trunk of his vehicle when an unknown male approached him, displayed a firearm and demanded money. The suspect robbed the victim of two computers and camera equipment. The suspect fled to Cedar Street where he was met by a second suspect. The victim described the first suspect as a b/m in his late teens wearing a white t-shirt, green jacket, black baggie jeans, and white tennis shoes and armed with a black handgun. He was unable to provide a description of the second suspect. The suspect description is similar to the suspect in two robberies that occurred last month; 2300 block of M St and 900 block of N 27th St.
TAGGED: Chimborazo, Church Hill North, crime, Fulton, Oakwood, Sector 111, St.John's District, Union Hill
It is important to know it was a Black gun I would thing would be a more fasionable color to match the rest of the outfit. Now if it has a orange tip he was robbed with a toy.
Why is it, then, when I go to the Crime Incident Information Center, that there are only 7 incidents in Fulton for the month of March? And only one of these is a robbery, where Lt Laino says there were 7 robberies? Are all these other incidents not being recorded? It gives a false impression of the amount of crime and generally what’s happening in the neighborhood.
The RPD’s online data can lag a little bit behind, though I’ve noticed that is has been worse of late.
Well 1 they don’t report when police go to incindents where they don’t file reports. Stuff like drunk in public where they let people leave with a warning or people decline to press charges.
2nd most of the data comes from the report. So data is depenent on filed Police reports.
