Police leaders to walk through Whitcomb
05/11/2009 2:57 PM by John M
Richmond Police Chief Bryan T. Norwood will reach out to the community tonight as he takes an element of his weekly staff meeting into a city neighborhood. The Chief and his Command Staff will knock on doors and speak to residents and business owners in the Whitcomb area.
Tee previous attempt at this was cancelled after an afternoon homicide on Third Avenue in Northside.
Tonight’s walk-through will begin at 7PM at Whitcomb Elementary School (2200 Whitcomb St). Parking is available on the school lot and on street.
This kind of thing takes effort and genuine concern. Presence is greatly appreciated. Thank you Chief.
I’m glad they walked around Whitcomb court. Several of us over here on the Northside have been sending information on drug houses for almost a year now with no luck. In fact it has gotten worst.
Thank you Chief for going over to Whitcomb. What about the people that already sending you information about drugs in their communities?
I did one of these in Randoplh a few months ago. Amazing response from citizens, and a good thought by the chief to get out of the office, out of the gold braid, and on the street. Norwood is definitely a good hire.
