Update from the Church Hill Dog Park
A message from the folks at the Church Hill Dog Park:
Hello fellow parents of dogs! We of the CHDP committee would like to remind all who visit the dog park on a regular basis (and even those who visit on occasion) that it is up to each and every one of us to police it in order to make sure ALL rules are being followed. This includes enforcement of the most important rule: all dogs must be spayed and/or neutered in order to join in the fun.
There have been reports as of late that kids, or young adults, have been vandalizing the park by swinging on gates and bouncing on picnic tables, breaking one in the process. This adds to the frustration we feel in dealing with constantly broken latches, hinges and lack of seating for those humans who patronize the park not to mention those humans who are constantly having to spend money and time repairing these pieces over and over again.
So I ask each of you to please watch out for wrong doings and either correct the behavior or at the very least report it. The 1st Precinct is trying to their best to patrol the area on a regular basis and the city is trying to clean up the lower area but we can’t do it without each of you helping us out! We worked hard to make this dream a reality and we would love to see it stick around, possibly becoming something better.

A good number to have on your cell phone:
Church Hill Police – non-emergency – 804-646-5100.
They can’t be everywhere/patrol at once but if YOU are there, see anything inappropriate, call them.
You do NOT have to give your name to report an incident of table jumping or some idiot using a gate as a swing. They’ll be out in a few. Listen to the prompts and you’ll get an officer/operator to speak to.
Great suggestion Deanna! it’s a shame that a few people, with obviously too much time on their hands, are ruining a park that we as a community all worked so hard to create!
where is the park located?
Down the hill from the gazebo in Chimborazo Park.
