Renmark Consignment opens on 25th Street

A great guide to Richmond over at Design*Sponge features 25th Street’s newest retail addition, Renmark Consignment Shop:
Newly opened Renmark Consignment shop is filled with traditional and quirky accessories for the home under the watchful eyes of Eapoe (named for Edgar Allen Poe) and Scamper. Designer Tayne Renmark has a discerning eye for wonderful picks. Recently spotted an elephant trunk lamp. I’ve always wanted a consignment shop(s) to open on 25th. Wonderful! Back in the 1980s I use to shop at a thrift store north of Broad.
Judging by the list of items that they will not accept, it’s seems as though it’s going to be a bit high end.
#2, I agree but I think it’s supposed to be high end, I don’t have any problem with that. Renmark IS high end, in my opinion. It’s still sort of a neat idea IMHO.
I met a woman the other day who said she’s planning to open a store further up 25th on the side of the condos that face Franklin, and have Carytown type home furnishings and maybe some art for sale. I have now forgotten when she planned to open but it’s sometime soon. She used to run a store in Carytown, as I recall. If she opens, it’ll be a real interesting mixture there on 25th!
I’d love to see a good ol’ thrift store on 25th -something for everyone. I think 25th street could make a great ave for all kinds of second hand shops like you can find on Lakeside. And throw in another coffee shop with tasty treats and a real bakery.
Great area for antique shops too. Right now is the ideal time for buying and reselling.
We have a little something for everyone at the consignment shop. We’ve also expanded our hours and are open on Monday and Tuesday 9-12 and Wednesday-Friday 9-6. Stop by and say hello!
Having known the Renmarks for a few years, and knowing of their impressive client list and project portfolio I’m inclined to agree, yes the shop is high end. However, high end doesn’t mean high prices.
I’ve been all throughout this store and must say it’s completely unique in Church Hill, possibly unique to Richmond, as well. The merchandise is of high quality, and reflects the Renmarks discriminating standards for furniture, lamps, accessories and style. Items in the store range in price from a few dollars to a few thousand, and there is literally something for everyone. I’m amazed that there is new stuff coming in every day!!! I also understand from Tayne some of her wholesalers and suppliers are offering her consigned merchandise at steep discounts. What could be better than designer furniture on at a discount?
It’s a great addition to our neighborhood and a wonderful idea in a cash strapped economic climate. Great job!
