Dog found at 29th and Broad Street

“We found him at 29th and East Broad. Looks like he got away. Owner can call (804)241-0796 to claim.”
I can’t tell if this is a puppy, but be careful, someone found a happy puppy a few weeks ago that looked like him, 3 days later he was dead from Parvo.
At 6pm yesterday, we came out of our house on 27th street to find an incredibly drunk man leaning on our porch, with a puppy who looked very much like this, leashed with a rope. He had a broom and could barely get the words out to ask us if we needed any yard work done. What came out weren’t actually words, but we could tell what he meant by the fact that he was gesticulating toward his broom. We said no and went on our walk, stopping at the corner to watch him pull off the long, complicated task of extracting himself from his leaning position and continuing on his way.
The puppy was playful and sweet and we are sure this is the same one. I would suggest finding him a new home.
was the human white or black?
call Dr Jack and mention you found a stray that might be at risk for Parvo. Then call Richnmond Aninmal Control to report where, when you found the dog (after 7 days you can adopt him as your own and get him spayed/neutered by Dr. Jack, the SPCA or through Petfix Coalition before you give him to another owner. Good luck!
I saw this dog being led around north of broad by a rope as well last week. The person walking it asked me for some food for the dog. They couldn’t tell me anything about it’s age or breed when I asked.
Poor pup- If that is indeed the same dog, I hope he finds a better home.
Yes, that is the same puppy. Drunky McDrunkington knocked on our door on 27th St Saturday afternoon asking if we had any yard work (he was carrying some hedge clippers, must have ditched the broom) and also asked if we had any dog food. We gave him a couple of Milkbones and sent him on his way. He was WASTED. Hope the puppy finds a good home. Hope the lit landscaper has a good hangover cure…
