Found in wtvr’s Video Vault, here is a 3/3/84 story about the Church Hill Housing Coalition’s renovation of a house.
The story doesn’t give an address & I can’t ID the house — does anyone recognize it?
The house is still there at 2410 Venable!
As a follow-up I’d love to see that house today. Surely there is somebody who can identify where this is. It isn’t Erica Gay’s old house on Venable, is it?
I like that house. Amazing to see it when it had neighbors. And look the story is from the day I turned 5!
It was the day before my 11th birthday!
And I believe the lady speaking on camera is Union Hill’s very own Phillis May Tupponce. Her voice sounds exactly the same, tho her hairstyle has changed a little bit since ’84.
2410 Venable is the oldest house (still standing) in Union Hill. Page 2 of the NPS Nomination dates the original structure at 1824.
