TAGGED: M Street
How about we get some police up here. I can’t remember the last time I saw police on foot, bike, or horse in the neighborhood.
In fact, I rarely even see a police car on anything other than a major thoroughfare type street (how about regular patrols of side streets too?)
Where these home robberies?
These read like street robberies.
Reaching waaaay back to my criminology class: Robbery is of the person and Burglary is of real property like a house.
I had 2 patrolmaen and I detective on my doorstep at 1:30am concerning the robbery at 2200 M…seems the robber used my address to call a cab then robbed the driver. A light skinned black man with a hoody
( describes half of the ‘hood) over powered the cabby and ran. Not sure why the police decided to wake me at 1:30am…maybe they thought the perp had gone home to count his money? Besides they told me the robbery happened around 10PM but the cabby didn’t report it until 1am. Sounds fishy to me.
Well the police are pretty good at showing up to file the report after the crime has been committed and the perp is gone…
Seems to me it might be more effective to have a stronger / more visible police presence here to help deter crime “up front.”
Again, what can we do to get the cameras that are running 24 hour surveillance on some key corners like they have in the bottom?
Heard at UHCA meeting that this guy has been caught.
