7th District Candidates Forum THURSDAY
10/14/2009 4:20 PM by John M
The 7th District Candidates Forum is Thursday, October 15 from 6:30-9PM at the Robinson Theater. Open to all interested citizens of the community and 7th District. Contact John Johnson at (804)814-1066 or mksm1@msn.com for more information.
I probably will have to work therefore miss the forum. Will there be another one? So far I’ve only met one candidate, Robin Robinson, briefly at the Henley St. Theatre’s first annual fundraiser at the Eric Schindler Gallery. I’m hoping candidates will go door to door and meet the neighbors. City council candidates use to canvas blocks. What’s a better way to know your district than to meet the neighbors on their own front porch? And we, the neighbors, need to see whether you care or not.
*note* Robin Robinson gave a very good first impression -personable, knowledeable regarding the districts history and current circumstances, she understands from experience the strengths and weaknesses in RPS and School Board, and she listened very well. She also has a long family and personal history here in the 7th.
Again I’m hoping to learn more about all the candidates before election day.
