2001 East Broad goes before Planning Commission on Monday
11/01/2009 9:40 AM by John M
The agenda for the 11/2 City Planning Commission meeting (PDF) indicates that the commission will be considering a change in hours for ChildSavers (PDF) and a special use permit “for the purpose of a mixed-use, multi-family development” (PDF) for the addresses that constitute the big vacant field on Broad Street between 20th and 21st Streets. (previously)
The Planning Commission approved the SUP for this development in today’s meeting.
THanks for the follow-up on that.
Looks like this project is getting underway. They’ve got fences up around the site and it looks like they’re preparing to do the site prep work. I must admit that I am impressed with the cash being invested in new housing between 18th and 21st streets on Broad and Marshall. Very cool and exciting!!
They’ve got some earth moving equipment doing the digging stuff now.
It looks to me from the rendering, above, that at least the corner is to be commercial on the ground level, perhaps residential above that. I hope it ends up looking like the rendering, since renderings can be wishful thinking on the part of the architect.
