Murder on Creighton
04/01/2010 1:25 PM by John M
The media is reporting another fatal shooting near Creighton this afternoon:
Police responded to a report of a man shot and suffering possibly life-threatening injuries in the 1800 block of Creighton Road at the Eastlawn Shopping Center, police said. Police have a large portion of a parking lot outside a Family Dollar store, a hair design business and pizza restaurant blocked off with crime tape.
That’s a shame, two murders in the east end on the same day, counting the body found at Oakwood as the other one. And we’d gone such a long time without any at all.
Guess the nice weather brings everyone out…
The Richmond Police Department has identified Devin L. Morse, 26, of the 1900 block of Accommodation Street, as the man who was shot to death yesterday morning in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Creighton Road.
Police responded to the Creighton area for a report of a shooting at 11:41 a.m. and found Morse with a gunshot wound. He was taken to VCU Medical Center where he died at 12:20 p.m.
Detectives do not believe this homicide is related to the one at Oakwood Cemetery earlier that morning..
Anyone with any information about either of these crimes is asked to call the Richmond Police Tips Line at 514-TIPS (8477) or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
