Examine 19th century architecture and modern revitalization efforts in Richmond’s oldest intact neighborhood. Developed by Major William Mayo, Church Hill is home to St. John’s Church, where Patrick Henry made his famous speech, and the city’s largest number of antebellum structures. CARITAS Furniture Bank is hosting a mega Community Yard Sale on April 23 and 24th 8am-1pm at 1125 E Commerce Rd Richmond, VA 23224. We’re offering over 30,000 Sq Ft of accumulated goods that do not meet the needs of our clients including clothes, appliances, electronics, antiques, outdoor furniture, glassware, silver and much more. All proceeds will benefit CARITAS Furniture Bank, a local 501(c)(3) organization moving people from shelter to stability.

Community Clean-up Day

Unity, Union Hill, Church Hill Central, and New Visions will be holding a community clean-up day! Unity Civic League will meet at 22nd and X Street (St. Peters Parish) at 8:00 AM. Church Hill Central volunteers will meet at the corner of 25th and Nine Mile at 8AM. New Visions volunteers will meet at 23rd and Q Streets at 8AM. Union Hill is TBA.

Road to Revolution Sign Unveiling with Governor McDonnell and Public Reenactment

The Patrick Henry Committee invites you to join Governor Robert McDonnell at St. John’s Church for the unveiling of the Road to Revolution sign. Following the unveiling, there will be a reenactment of the Second Virginia Convention of March 1775, when Patrick Henry gave his famous “Liberty or Death” speech.
