Today marks the 6th anniversary of the first post on CHPN. Since then we’ve had 3,371 posts and just over 27,000 comments. An ongoing big thanks to everyone that sends in stories, shares in the comments, or just hangs back and takes it all in.
So very thankful for what you do!
congratulations! when are you gonna let everybody take credit for all their passionate, thoughtful,,viewpoints? that way folks can take credit for theit enlightened commentary. speak up i cant hear you when you speak as an anonymous authority. it would also stop jackwads who post under under several names so they can agree with themselves. good? bad?lets discuss it.buddycorbett
Buddy, I am honestly beginning to believe that you have never made an intelligent post on this website. You want the owner of a small public news site to require full disclosure of personal information (to the public) before people can post comments. What a great idea! Maybe we should make them give out daily schedules and a list of fears to go with that.
Honestly, I enjoy this site very much the way it is. I have no problem with the people that post here, and if you really want to meet with someone, I am sure they will be willing to send you contact info in a less public way. If you hate anonymity, my advice is to stay off of the internet.
CHPN has created a community space for the Church Hill area that the rest of the Richmond region should envy – and emulate. Congratulations, and thanks for all the hard work, Murden.
John, thank you.
Thanks, John! You continue to rock, as usual.
Happy anniversary! Great job bringing the big & small community news a little bit closer to home and giving everyone a place to share their views, vents & ideas. I enjoy your great photos too.
John, what inspired you to create this place we call CHPN?
ah james how comforting for you to make inane comments from cover. facebook has people taking credit for what they say and i have seen some acrimonious and entertaining discussions and everybody involved signed their name to their opinion . the world didnt end ,nobody got intimidated, and nobody felt threatened . quit trying to make this a rights issue and just admit you like to attack people personally but are too much of a wuss to own up to it.again, anonymous high school mean girl insults kinda weak honey. just sayin but you have a nice day sugar ok?buddycorbett
I would also like to thank John M for providing this excellent community resource. I lived in a couple different neighborhoods in Chicago, and always wished for a neighborhood specific news letter. Here in Church Hill, we have this news online. Cheers!
@#7 – I took inspiration from Waldo’s Cvillenews circa 2002 and Metafilter, and the fact that the Church Hill area seems to show up in the news a lot for its relative size to the metro area. Plus putting the old Punchline website up every week got me kind of stoked to publish something myself.
