Call for Golden Hammer nominations
The Alliance to Conserve Old Richmond Neighborhoods is seeking Golden Hammer nominations:
The annual awards ceremony celebrating excellence in historic rehabilitation and neighborhood revitalization is swiftly approaching. It is time to submit your nominations for the best in home renovation, commercial renovation, new infill, and/or neighborhood enhancement projects city-wide.
If you are a contractor, renovator, or the owner of a building that was completed by September 30, 2009, do not hesitate to nominate your project. If you know an individual, firm, or other agency whose work should be celebrated, seize the opportunity!
All nominees will be honored at the Golden Hammer Awards ceremony in November. Download the nomination form here: Golden Hammer Nomination
Any questions? Call the Alliance at 804.644.5040 or send an email to: giles@richmondneighborhoods.org.
The annual Golden Hammer nominations is a welcome sight. It always signals that caring, grass roots renovation and restoration of Richmond’s neighborhoods is still alive and well.
I heard that Historic Richmond is on the point of issuing a video exploring what a swell thing Historic Richmond Foundation is. If ACORN had this kind of money, just the money spent on HRF’s new masturbatory movie, think what real and meaningful stuff ACORN could do instead of a lot of navel-gazing and self congratulatory crap like is the only product of HRF. What a shame.
Instead, we’ll celebrate another year of meaningful achievement, affordable and delightful historic old homes saved, and salute those who struggle to maintain what gives Richmond its charm. Congratulations!
