Over/under on Bobby Scott?
10/28/2010 5:45 AM by John M
Congressman Bobby Scott (D) faces 3 challengers in this year’s election. Since being elected to the seat in 1992, Scott has run unopposed 5 times; none of his 4 challengers have managed more than 31% of the vote. Will Scott get less than 69% of the vote on Tuesday? Will Quigley, Smith, or Kelly garner more than 31%?
Scott will easily win but will get less than 69%.
Smith will finish 2nd with more than 31%.
Quigley (3rd) and Kelly (4th) will both get single digits percentage wise.
It’s a shame that Scott has done very little (if anything) over the past 18 years yet the folks in this district keep electing him…completely worthless!
If only those that “payed” taxes were allowed to vote, Scott would be HISTORY!
It’s such a shame, because IMHO, Mr Smith is a good, honest, honorable, decent man with solid family principles and Scott is simply nothing but a uber-liberal rubber stamp.
#3 It’s “Paid” dumb ass
(For the record, Chuck Smith isn’t from the district, he just came here to run in our election.)
Scott was railing about the explosion in the national debt long before it was a tea party issue:
National debt in 1992: $4 Trillion
National debt in 2000: $6 Trillion
National debt in 2008: $11 Trillion
He expressly warned about this back in 2001 and 2003 when the Bush tax cuts were passed.
He’s a budget hawk– Which is an influence that both parties could use more of.
Yo Vito –
You know anyone who doesn’t pay taxes?
Even poor people gotta pay tax on food, clothes, gas, etc.
I’ll be voting for Chuck Smith. Twice if I could. Bobby Scott has contributed next to nothing to this part of the district. We can’t even get a decent post-office which just about any first-term congressman could have gotten done. Please vote for Chuck Smith and, at the very least, send Bobby Scott a message that we’re tired of being ignored!
Spellchecker-how about some cheese to go with your whine?
Please, cut Scott some slack: he’s never wasted taxpayer money returning phone calls or using stamps responding to his constituents. Those savings must count for something.
#9 Houdon – have you actually contacted Scott about getting a new post office? Made more than one phone call, followed up and directly asked for a new post office? I happen to agree that the one on 25th St. is pretty nasty, but it never hit me to contact Mr. Scott over it. I’m really being serious here, not sarcastic or anything else. I believe that if that is your passion, you should pursue it, and try to make it happen. Thanks.
Scott has huge support down around Chesapeake and that area of the district. I have every intention of voting for him. Thank you #7 Ryab for your comments.
Vito – Shame those taxes aren’t going to education, you could have used a few more lessons in grade school.
Jake – How about a new line?
Don’t get mad at us ‘elitist’ liberals. Anyone could have finished high school and gone to college, doesn’t make us better than you. Just smarter.
