A message from Lisa Taranto, Executive Director of Tricycle Gardens:

What a year it has been! We have built a 1/2 acre farm, completed another community garden in Church Hill, installed a permaculture edible forest garden at the Science Museum of Va, moved into a new office with big visions dancing in our heads. But we need your support as we move into 2011, to build out our 6500 square feet Center for Shared Urban Ecology and Learning Labs.

Help us raise the initial $10,000 to get this project started! Located at the corner of Jefferson Ave, E. Marshall St. and 21st St., this location is considered a gateway to Church Hill. We will transform the space into a magical green space, with a greenhouse, a hoop house,a soil factory, and all kinds of experimental container gardens-perfect for teaching and learning about growing food in any kind of urban environment.

We will continue to teachyouth about the amazing process growing food, cooking, and the ultimate prize-EATING WELL! We will continue to restore our urban ecology, creating lovely and verdant places for abundant community living! Please go to our super easy DONATE NOW page, and join in the action! Together we can transform the food landscape of inner city Richmond. Your inve$tment goes a looooong way, as you are investing in sustainably driven projects.
