Have you seen Sugar or Capella?

Seen these dogs?
My mother, Diane Worthington, is missing her 2 dogs. She lives on Libby Terrace. Sugar is a big 70lb brown and black dog short haired dog and is notorious around the neighborhood for her escape antics. Capella, is a medium size, black, long haired dog that looks a bit like a fat cocker spaniel. She has a white stripe down her nose and chest. Both dogs are very friendly. Often where one goes, there goes the other. We are really concerned because it is so cold. If there are any sightings around the neighbor hood, please contact me Michela at 303-5151 or Diane at 447-3298. Thanks very much!
TAGGED: pets
There is a $100 reward if you find them. Thanks!
Please check with Richmond Animal Control by going there in person and looking for your dogs. Also, are your dogs microchipped and tagged? If not, please make that investment since they are “notorious” for their “escape antics”. Good luck. I hope you find them.
Yes, microchipping is well worth the $35!!
We finally found them after 5 long days. Capella actually is microchipped and it didn’t seem to make any difference at all when she disappeared several years ago. I don’t think the pounds even check. It was very discouraging. I appreciate all of the information from our neighbors, it really helped! Thanks again!
Honestly, they do check for microchips. The last thing AC needs or wants is to take up space on a dog that is owned and can simply be returned to its owner. Several years ago microchip readers may not have been as prevalent, but now every AC facility has a reader and so does every veterinarian. I work at a vet clinic and we scan every dog that comes through our doors as a new patient.
P.S. I am really glad you found them.
Michela, I’m really glad you found them but PLEASE get the other one microchipped, and PLEASE tell your mother to get a higher fence in her yard! (Or quit letting them go out unsupervised in the yard). There is no mystery as to why the dogs get out so often, a 30 inch fence does not keep dogs confined! If she wants the dogs to be in the yard, she needs to figure out a way to suitably confine them. Many thanks.
This is Mom – Sugar is microchipped. I acquired Sugar as a 2 yr rescue. She ran the first day. I have since used trainers, exercises and tied to a long rope to keep her home. As for a fence, I do have a small fence around the yard – works for all dog guests. I took Sugar to barker park to run but she climbed once and sailed over the fence once. I can’t put a 6 ft stock yard fence around my yard since my neighbors who pay extra taxes to have a view from Libby Terrace would not be happy. The yard is much to small for an electric fence. I really love Sugar, and will continue to try to contain her. Thanks for caring.
