Renovator’s Happy Hour spotlights Fairmount Avenue
Better Housing Coalition’s Center for Neighborhood Revitalization will hold its next Renovators’ Happy Hour on Thursday, June 16 at 2012 Fairmount Avenue (named in 2010 as one of the 10 most blighted houses in Church Hill and right next door the award-winning renovation at 2008 Fairmount Avenue).
Please join us after work for light refreshments, beverages, and good company as we showcase BHC’s newest single-family renovation at 2012 Fairmount Avenue. This home is now ready to welcome new residents to the historic Church Hill neighborhood.
Added to the State & Federal Registers in 2009, the Fairmount area features a wide variety of architectural styles ranging from Classical Revival to Craftsman. BHC’s home at 2012 Fairmount represents one of several”unusual examples of Queen Anne style houses” in the neighborhood according to the Historic District’s narrative description. Come see BHC’s transformation of this home, which incorporates modern energy-efficient features and maintains ornate historic architecture!

I’ve enjoyed watching the progress on this one. It has come a long way since having a tree fallen on it’s back. They’ve kept a lot of original interior elements, and it has a great back porch. Definitely worth dropping by on Thursday!
