Ok the jail has been in the same location for 50 years. No one really want a jail in their area. When they built the jail there, there wasn’t an onslaught of protesters, why now when the City wants to enlarge it?
The City could see if they could buy property in Scotts Addition, west of the Boulevard and built a new one there. Or why not at the Deepwater Terminal?
These two council people are now jumping on the band wagon to not have the jail down on 17th street. They are looking for votes in the next election!!
