Friends of Chimborazo looking for help to host movies in the park
07/14/2011 3:32 PM by John M
Friends of Chimborazo is hoping to host 3 movie nights in Chimborazo park once the weather has cooled. In order to accomplish this, we need sponsors to cover licensing fees for the movies.
Licensing fees usually run between $150 and $250 for non new release movies. Cheaper than that big cookout you were planning.
Since friends of Chimborazo falls under the parks dept 501c3 umbrella, donations can be tax deductible.
So, if you are involved in a business, or are an individual or a group of individuals that want to put on a show for the community, please contact John at Friendsofchimborazo@gmail.com for further details.

Where can we find the information to fill in a W-9 for tax purposes?
Mr. Clay, I would like more information on sponsoring a movie event@ Chimborazo Park. If you could supply that info. I represent Local 995 Richmond Firefighters Association and have long served the Church Hill area as a firefighter. Our group may be interested in supplying the donation necessary to fund a inght. I look forward to hearing from you on this worthwhile project. Please stay safe! Keith Andes
If we cover the cost of a movie, do we get to choose which one it is? Obviously I’m not proposing to show pornos in the park and I’d stay within family-friendly range of movies but if I’m covering the tab, I’d like to pick something decent. I’m not paying for Pokemon or some shit like that…
Assuming I can get some say in the choice, I’m pretty sure I can scrounge up enough for a movie.
Donors are encouraged to suggest movies. We then discuss them to make sure they are appropriate and marketable. The goal being to ensure it is a family friendly choice that has the potential to draw an audience of more than 1. So, there is definately some negotiation room there.
Also understand that different movies have different licesing fees associated with them and some are just not available. Once you suggest a movie, I will check with our licensing agency and get back to you on availability and cost.
As for Pokeman, I would not show such a film if my life dependend on it.
