Dog and moped
11/25/2011 6:28 PM by John M
A reader sent in this video: “Seen in Union Hill, recorded on M Street heading west. It’s a dude on moped with his dog ON A LEASH running beside him.”
Looks kind of cruel to me. Reminds me of the scene in National Lampoon’s Vacation where they tie the dog to the car…
I can’t believe I am going to reference this show (the lady would be proud), but Cesar Milan promotes exercise with dogs one way or another. His preferred method is on those mountain roller-blades (looks fun), but for some disabled people I’ve seen him encourage the mobility chair/golf cart method. As long as the person’s not going too fast, I guess this falls into the 2nd.
…Or, could just be laziness 😛
This is the same guy who lets his dog off the leash all the time and laughs when it chases our mailman. I’m surprised it hasn’t been hit by a car yet. Feel sorry for the dog. Laziness sounds pretty much on point.
#3 Mars, Sounds like dog needs to be rescued by a caring other person.
If the dog is a doberman, then this might be a guy who drives a black pickup and works at Alamo BBQ on Jefferson. He sometimes drives to Alamo with the dog in the bed of the truck and then he leaves the dog tied to the truck while he works. I’ve seen this because I live next door to Alamo and have heard the bark barking incessantly. However, the guy also drives a black (possibly red) moped. I think he is cruel to his dog, but not in a terribly malicious way, just in a slightly neglectful way.
This is very cruel! The moped is going way too fast for the dog, he could choke on the collar, get dragged by the moped, or escape! This guy has driven down my block and I told him that the next time I see him doing that I will call Animal Control.
not to mention that he is training his dog to chase mopeds, motorcycles, and even cars.
Carolyn and Beth, please call. It is the same guy. I have called, mailman has called, and other neighbors called numerous times and animal control has done nothing. I’m hoping the squeaky wheel…
I’ve seen this guy a few times, dog looks like hes having a blast. Hes not going that fast, id say 15-20 mph which dobies can easily do
Find something else to complain about.
i am friends with the guy in question. The dog is very gentle and kind. I never hear a complaint and play with him often. Anyone who has owned a large dog knows walking them and running them enough is a task. He also mountin boards with the dog. He takes very good care and the dog NEVER chases cyclists or moped riders. I ride mopeds and have on many occasions ridden by him / with him. The dog is very well trained and has a blast. Maybe instead of throwing out wild accusations and reporting him for “animal abuse” you all should get off you butts and out from behind the keyboard and talk to him. Grow up people. He is a very nice guy and runs one of the few church hill buisnesses that make our neighborhood great. His dog is amazing and treats it better then 98% if the other dog owners in our neighborhood.
Really, yall are going to bitch about this. that dog is amazing and the dude is even better! get a fu**ing life..there are plenty of horrible dog owners in church hill and plenty of dog fighting going on. this is great exercise for a big dog. my dogs use to pull me on a skateboard at 20mph or faster is that cruel…how about sled dogs? know wonder blacks hate white people moving in church hill, most of yall are nosey stuck up pricks.
