Demolition begins at MLK
12/19/2011 5:31 PM by John M
Neighbors, politicians, teachers, students, and media turned out today for the beginning of the demolition of the round buildings at MLK Middle School. The new school is expected to be ready for students in January 2014.
I’m assuming they played Alice Cooper at the ceremony? “School’s been blown to pieces!”
Construction begins for new MLK Middle (ncb12)
Will demolition across the street acompany this project?
D, was thinking the same thing. Give out Section 8 vouchers and break up the cluster of poverty across the street.
What a sad, short-sighted decision to rebuild at this location. The City & MCV are landlocked. Nothing could help this area to be “revitalized” more, than to have this large parcel that overlooks the City put to better use. And, “D”, wouldn’t it be nice to have Mosby South moved from the end of the MLK Bridge that is to become “The Gateway to the City”. Just plain sad at this point.
Like everything else politicians get involved in, just bad money after good. No foresight or comprehensive planning done.
