The agenda for the Commission of Architectural Review Agenda set for Tuesday, April 24 (PDF) includes two local projects: 2315 VENABLE ST Demolish front porch; 2109 E BROAD ST Roof design for partially-approved new addition.
Which one wants to get rid of the front porch? Think I was just over there and they are not that bad, many details probably original imo. Would be a shame to see this happen.
In my opinion there are far more pressing things to be done on Venable St. What about the entire 2000 block…is there one house on the block not boarded up?
What about the church on the 2200 block, it is practically burned. Venable St. has some great bones and most of the houses would be beautiful restored. However, it is my opinion…the porch should be the least of their worries.
I think the porch is already gone. I drove by a couple weeks back and they were sanding down the bare bricks on the edifice of the house.
The porch was demolished some months ago.
