Husky found, no sled attached
06/25/2012 1:29 PM by John M
Chris and Tyler found this very friendly slim white and grey husky last night in around M and 28th Street. They knocked on doors around the area to try to find the owner, but it was almost 3 a.m. so not surprisingly nobody answered. The dog has a red collar with a numbered ID but no contact information as far as a name, address, or phone number. Owners can contact Tyler at (757) 572-9291.
I think that dog belongs to a guy named jerry, who lives across from the Roosevelt
No that’s Sasha! She is gray and white. She is ours! The numbers are from her rabies vaccine. We are on vacation in NC now Please call us at 804 873 6770
Jerry’s husky is brown. This is our pooch. We live at 621 North 29
Mari, be sure to call Tyler at (757) 572-9291 because I have no way of knowing if he or his roomie are reading this daily.
I am glad he found his owner. So many dogs lately being found without identification. The number like mentioned is the rabies license and could have been cross referenced. And of course, see if they had a microchip.
How are so many getting loose accidentally… or are they?
More dogs get lost on July 4th than any other day of the year. It’s fireworks phobia. While it isn’t 7/4 yet, I heard fireworks going off on Sunday night (no, it was not gun shots!). My fireworks phobic dog was trying to climb the privacy fence and I had to sedate her.
It’s nice that everyone is concerned about the dog. But no mention about being sled-jacked in Church Hill? Too many puppies drinking sizzurp on these warm summer nights…
I am looking for a husky to own. I had a husky but she passed over a year ago and have been looking for another if anyone has puppies please email me.
Thanks
@Delores – instead of paying for a puppy and supporting a breeder, you could try looking on Petfinder.org or look on the internet for Husky Rescue groups. There are breed-specific animal rescue groups in just about every state. Would be surprised if VA didn’t have one…or a neighboring state.
Yes, please, Delores, look at Petfinder.com. I just did a quick search on the site and there are 21 husky or husky mixes listed within 100 miles. Several are pups or young dogs and many look to be pure breed. I am not a husky person, but I know that a lot of them end up in rescue – cute as puppies but then they are high energy, shed like the dickens and they seem a very dominant breed. A lot of people can’t handle a husky or find the reality of a husky pup not quite as fun as they thought it would be. If you can, please please please rescue; don’t buy a puppy.
