Know this dog?

Found in Chimbo playground about 6PM. Female dog, very friendly, no collar. Call Brie at 677-7641 if you recognize…
Do we need to create a new blog dedicated to missing pets? Seems like every other CHPN post recently is “I lost/found this dog/cat”. Maybe we should all chip in and hire a bounty hunter: “I’ll find your dog for three, but I’ll catch him and wash him for ten!”
Should we at least have an interactive map displaying recent finds and runaways? Then we can find out if there’s a pattern…
Would help if cops would enforce leash laws, if one exists.
Leash laws absolutely do exist in the city of Richmond. NO off lead dogs allowed any where – no parks, sidewalks, streets – no place except inside the boundaries of established and fenced dog parks. Even if you think you and our dog are special, you are not. The law applies to everyone.
Agreed about the leash enforcement, but accidents do happen. We have an akita that absolutely loves people, but has issues with the energy half of off-lead dogs put off. As a precaution, the ladyfriend insists we walk her muzzled, which means super short walks in these hot summer months.
Clay St. Steve, It’s not that your dog is offended by the “energy” of off lead dogs. It’s that she’s fearful and preparing to defend herself by warning them. Off lead dogs have an advantage in her eyes – they run unencumbered while she is held in place by her leash. The leashed dog knows they are at a disadvantage. I walk a pit bull and a bulldog mix – about 110 lbs of dog altogether. My bulldog doesn’t care. He’s the most confident dog I’ve ever met. Never seen him display a single minute of fear or uncertainty. But my pit girl – 40 lbs. – always has something to say to an off lead dog and she’s not saying “nice to meet you”!
