David Tate Urban Forestry Service Day

Chimborazo Park (3200 East Broad Street)Calling all friends and family of David Tate, Tree Stewards, Master Naturalists, Tree Care Professionals, and anyone with a passion for trees in Church Hill.
Arborscapes and True Timber are hosting the 1st Annual Service Day in memoriam of David Tate, arborist and friend, who helped plant trees in this part of the city. In his memory, we are joining together to keep up the momentum in caring for Richmond’s trees.
Professionals from Richmond’s Urban Forestry Department, Arborscapes, True Timber, and other local professionals along with leaders from Tree Stewards and Master Naturalists will be pruning, mulching, and providing young and mature tree maintenance in Church Hill and welcome anyone who wants to lend a helping hand. All skill levels and interests are welcome!

Note start time has been adjusted to 8:30 to allow time to grab some breakfast and coffee before starting work at 9:00*
**Church Hill Irish Festival is going on the same day 10 am to 7 pm which is a great way to celebrate after our day, but Broad Street between 24-26th and well as some cross streets will be closed for the festival, so plan ahead to get around the closures**
**Please bring gloves and if you happen to have mulching tools, wheelbarrows, rakes, pruning tools, etc.**

I hope this event was a success. I have not joined on this because I am leaving from a different place. I hope you can share photos of this event and I’d be happy to see them. I really love planting trees and I also like joining volunteer acts like tree planting because I know that this is for us and for the future generation.
