Bomb in Chimborazo Park
04/18/2013 4:35 PM by John M
Knitorious Meg strikes again, this time with Love Bomb No. 7 in Chimborazo Park.
Yarn Bombing.
The contrast is intentional.
Where we live, today, in one of our wonderful public spaces, a local person who you might even know, did something generous and loving.
I love the shit out of this.
It’s called knit bombing, folks. It’s been called knit bombing for a long time. The headline would only be bad if it weren’t accompanied by a picture and an explanation. Also, under the circumstances, we all need a love bomb.
Meh…too soon is strictly in the eyes of the beholder. Bad taste is strictly in the eyes of the beholder. John had a message in what he did and he delivered it in spades. If you attempt to be edgy or take risks, some of them will….er…blow up…from time to time. This is a home run as far as I am concerned.
Friendly Warning
The portion of the park where this was done is FEDERAL property and the US Parks Dept has no sense of humor. I know from past dealings with them that we just barely escaped having law enforcement involved when someone pruned some park trees without telling them first. So who ever took down the street sign that used to be on that pole and did this probably should probably return things to normal before the Parks Dept gets pissed
I love it!
Yeah, I get it. But it’s still in poor taste as an attention grabber. The yarn bomb itself is nice. Whoever wrote the headline is insensitive at best. I think less of chpn now.
Something is wrong with Murden.
Yay wet rotting yarn
@ #15, John, I love that you love the shit out of this, and I love that you said “shit.” That shit is all.
Damn y’all are mad that this wasn’t a real bomb when you clicked through or what? Like what part of your brain lets you think for even a minute that someone would put a bomb in Chimborazo Park? Be realistic people.
not cool
Good work John. Breath of fresh air.
Ummm…this is seriously a news story on 8 News? There is nothing more substantive to cover? Is the Assignment Editor there stoned?
Must be a slow news day. Heard something was going on up in Boston, don’t know what it was, though.
I dropped bombs in all of your toilets when you were at work.
I sure hope this is not going to be on the news, if it is you folks ought to go and try reporting sometime.
I get many are upset, I guess I am thick skinned and hard hearted, I just found it ironic as I think it was intended.
Knitorious Meg, you were the girl that changed my world…

(aawwwyeah! turn it up…)
Commenter #20 – Just FYI, I never remove signs…I purposely select naked poles.
Commenter #37 – Associating me with The Gap Band is a fab thing! xo 2 u.
Love your work and your dedication MEG. Keep it up. Camo knit with sequins in our future?
Lololol at WRIC doing a story on this blog title. If that’s all it takes to get a little attention in this town I’ll be sure to title my blogs accordingly. Example: Title: “Home Invasion!” Story: House party held.
Has anyone noticed that the Chimbo love bomb is missing? I thought that once MGB placed a “bomb” it stayed there. I’ve seen one on Thompson that’s been there for over a year. Surely our love bomb did not get stolen?
Just got back into town after a two week absence. Driving down Williamsburg Rd, just past the Gas Works I was pleasantly surprised to be blown up by a Knitorious Meg love bomb! Looks like the one that was in Chimborazo. Thanks again Meg. It made my day…
