Props for a local contractor

Chris Chrisman has something good to say:
We own a house at 425 N. 31st Street. The house came with a poorly constructed balcony, which has needed replaced for some time. We got several bids from local contractors and finally chose Bill Pangburn of Savoy Properties.
The process has been easy, with only a few minor bumps, and we are extremely happy with the end product. As it was our first dealing with a contractor, we were definitely nervous; but, as I said, everything turned out great and we would not hesitate to use Bill again.
Thanks for this. People are always so quick to point out criticism when a job is poorly done (rightfully so), but we need to give more kudos when the work is done well. Will keep these guys in mind for future work.
If you were going local should have consulted Aaron Ogburn who is a contractor who owns a home in the 500 block of 27th! But good job!!!
I’ve had great work done by RBVA (http://rbvainc.com/) and Reveal (http://revealinc.com).
Another happy customer of Aaron Ogburn LLC! We also have a great electrician that we highly recommend, his name is Chris Gates.
Bill did the siding on our 200 year old house when we lived in Union Hill. Really did a fantastic job and super friendly. I also know RBVA does phenominal work as well!
Sir William…
Do you have contact info for Mr. Ogburn? I’m looking to have some work done on my home.
It’s worth noting that the Golden Hammer nominee 3001 East Marshall Street was also done by Savoy Properties. Monument Avenue may be theirs as well as I know they were on a project repairing a very large number of historic windows in an apartment building.
Most recently, Savoy built our 8’x12′ permanent outbuilding and stewarded us through the entire CAR process with the City. The process went as smoothly as possible, the outcome was great, and the building is a great benefit to our house and blends in perfectly with the neighborhood’s character.
I’ve solicited bids on various projects from Savoy, Jewels and RBVa. All are deeply involved in Church Hill and do excellent historic rehabilitation/renovation work. But Savoy is my preference as Bill takes serious pride in his work and stands behind his guarantees.
@Dave-if you are the same one from the other post, I listed his email address over there but it’s aaronogburn@gmail.com
Jonny Lillyman is darn good as well. Does a ton of historic restoration.

Rob Pate has done numerous large and small jobs for us over the years and does great work at a reasonable price. Also local.
Bill Pangburn and the Savoy crew did my renovations on a totally dilapidated home on 32nd St. From the “mulched” front porch to custom trim work and unbelievable painting I couldn’t ask for more out of a contractor and Savoy will always be my first call for any historic or other renovations. Bill post pictures off all his current and past work at http://www.savoyhistoric.com.
It should also be noted that Bill seamlessly worked with our difficult lender through the 203K lending process and delivered an outstanding solution. His painter, Mark or “Picasso” as Bill calls him is perhaps the best residential painter in Richmond. His free hand skill in pulling a straight line is second to none. While he may not be the fastest painter, he’s thorough and cleans up and makes sure to leave the left over paint for any touch ups and gives comprehensive instructions for upkeep and storage.
If anyone ever wants to see a great example of Bill’s work, my door is always open. Message me on Facebook for more info.
Cheers to Savoy Properties and Bill Pangburn!
Can’t say enough good things about the quality craftsmanship and service that Bill Pangburn and his crew bring to work every day. Bill has performed work for me on a rental home in Church Hill and at our commercial office building in Shockoe Bottom. The latter was a major job and a major issue because we had a flood and Bill was instrumental in everything from disaster recovery, to working at night and on weekends in what easily could have been a business-crippling environment. Bill and his team turned a terrible situation into a positive one and delivered a much improved and beautifully finished work environment back to our company.
