25th Street Deli again seeking ABC license
03/10/2014 10:34 AM by John M
The 25th Street Deli at 1009 North 25th Street has again applied for a Wine and Beer Off Premises ABC license.
The market previously sought to be able to sell beer and wine in in May of 2012, a move which was opposed at an October 2012 hearing.
He has stated before an interest in carrying case beer and wine. If im not mistaken the lease limits him to that. Backwards church hill residents need to politely back off. These guys are attempting to grow a business within one block of 187 liquor and the TERRIBLE ocean market grocery. To the people blocking this .. New people who care about the success of this community and its well being are moving in. Your pre 1950s way of thinking is dead. Church hill and Alphabet soup needs fresh ideas thinking and innovation .
@km, the pre-1950s thinking is evident only in corner store owners who sell solely poverty-profiteering products like fortified wine, malt liquor and single cigarettes to men who drink on the street all day. How can anyone improve himself when the 25th Street gauntlent is an acceptable social norm? This business has never evidenced any difference from Ocean Grocery and its ilk – just look at its windows plastered with peeling sun bleached brown paper and crappy adverts. The owners are on deck to prove they want a change, not the neighbors.
