Scooter stolen from Broad and 29th
07/07/2014 8:01 AM by John M
Scooter stolen – Alley at E Broad & 29th. Please share with the police if you saw any suspicious activity! It happened between 6p – 9p yesterday.
Thank you for posting this John!
It is a black & red brand new Honda scooter. Any information would help!
So sick of people stealing sh*t!
(Okay. Maybe not as sick as I am of people shooting each other. But at least that doesn’t happen this often!)
Do we have…I don’t know…a neighborhood watch? A city registry for bikes/scooters/etc.? Something?
I’m sure this thing is already torn apart, and the pieces are most likely posted on craigslist…. or someone has it in their shed with a perfect match of their honda for backup parts. I hope they had insurance! its that time of year….

There is a neighborhood crime watch run by a very dedicated woman named Shelby Long. She posts information on CHPN and recently held ( June 25 ) a neighborhood crime watch meeting to discuss recent robberies. She cordinates closely with the police and encourages neighbors to pass on information thru the crime watch.
Sorry, I forgot to put in contact info for the crime watch.

In the past few weeks I’ve seen a few scooters and motorcycles left unlocked. I contemplated putting a note on them, but unsolicited advice usually isn’t appreciated, so I didn’t. I hope newcomers to the neighborhood see this, and take sensible precautions.
Thank you for the concerns. No word yet.

There was a shiny red scooter in the alley of the 3000 block of Broad between Marshall and Broad at about 7am this morning. It was unlocked and proped up against the back corner of 311 N 30th. It looked very odd especially since it was unlocked in an alleyway.
Hi Laura! I just had someone check the side driveway of 311 30th, nothing there… Is the alley accessible from broad or Marshall? (I happen to be traveling and am trying to explain to someone checking for us)
Thank you so very much!
Hi Laura! What street is the alley accessible from? And is it behind a house? I just had someone check but nothing was there. I really appreciate it! (I happen to be out of town)
@15…as of 5 minutes ago…it’s still there. A honda metropolitan. behind 311 n 30th st . Yellow house. its not a driveway, it’s an alley. If they can’t see it…they’re blind. It’s literally in the alley. call RPD and have them check it out.
That’s it !!! It’s ours!!! I’ll send them back there!!!!!
Laura, thank you so much… This is proof that a neighborhood has some power over these thieves!!!
Can’t believe it made it for two days back there unlocked.
Glad to help….now, help yourself and keep it locked up. There is another one in the back alley on the 2900 block of Broad unlocked and just waiting to be thrown onto the back of a pickup. Never forget…we live in a city.
