City Council likely to postpone vote on Pear Street
07/14/2014 1:48 PM by John M
I’m hearing from several sources that ordinances No. 2014-78 and No. 2014-71 dealing with the proposed Pear Street project will be continued at tonight’s City Council meeting.
Unless this is formally postponed, people should still show up. I could see a disinformation campaign being used in this one
POSTPONED TONIGHT — Pear Street High-Rise will not be heard
City Council have just announced that the Special Use Permit for the 15-story Pear Street high-rise WILL NOT BE DEBATED TONIGHT.
This is the third postponement and the next official Council meeting is in September. However, there is a small chance of the Council setting a meeting for July 28, prior to their August recess.
While the new delay is very frustrating, we have learned that some of the key Council members still don’t know enough about the problems with the project and this delay will allow them time to study the extensive materials we have provided. The campaign will continue to collect petition signatures and supporters to protect Libby Hill Park and the beautiful panoramic view.
There are some new aerial photos to look at and a video.

We will keep you posted
