Central Montessori expanding into old Tricycle Gardens space

Mike sent in an update in the old Tricycle Gardens spot on Jefferson Avenue:

Ran into one of the owners of the Montessori school while talking to a gent building large planters along the Jefferson Avenue fence line. Apparently, Montessori will be leasing the property, and opening an “Infants & Toddlers” facility there in approx. 2 months. This is the second great use of this space in a row following Triangle Gardens long stint on this unique lot.

If you have a minute, maybe stroll by and tell them how happy we are that they’re growing on our neighborhood.

I confirmed with the folks at Central Montessori that this in the works. Things are just getting going, but it’s a great solution to their need for more space and desire to stay in the neighborhood.

From our profile of the school back in January:

The Central Montessori community has a choice to make: stay small or take on another venue?

The school started with students 3-6 years old, now serves children ages 16 months to 12-years-old, and has run out of room to expand.

“We exceeded our 5 year vision, we’ve added a new classroom every year,” says Pishko. The school currently enrolls about 100 students, and is full of children. There is a waiting list for toddlers, and the elementary program is at capacity with enrollment closed for the past year. They are weighing the costs of expansion to another facility in the area and looking at their options.
