Simple good news: stolen bicycle returned to owner
Today’s Good News: Two citizens recently emailed to commend First Precinct officers for their efforts that resulted in the recovery of their bicycle, which was stolen during a burglary. Detective Calvin Layne and Officer Ronald McClarin responded to the burglary and interviewed the victim while Officer Jordan Clark later spotted the stolen bike and seized it.
“We just wanted to take a moment to thank Detective Layne and Officer McClarin for their hard work and determination. It did indeed pay off when I received my bike back from the Property Office downtown just yesterday,” they wrote.
“Your good work and the honest efforts of your department are one of the many reasons that we are glad to call Church Hill our home. Officer McClarin was very friendly and professional, and despite still being in shock over the theft, we were joking with him by the time he left. Detective Layne was also very professional and was quick to keep up communication with whatever he needed from us. I have no idea who actually caught the individual with my bike, but we are indeed grateful to them as well, so please pass along our thanks. You guys are great and you make a difference!”
I do so admire what RPD is constantly doing for us.Thanks.
Wow! That’s awesome.
I have this same story. A friend saw my stolen bicycle on a porch last week, and Lt Dan responded immediately and matched the serial number. Within an hour I had my bike back. Thanks to Lt Dan and the First Precinct for such rapid service!
OK, I’ll just say it…
