Police seeking to identify armed robber
Richmond Police detectives need the public’s help to identify a person of interest in connection with two crimes involving firearms in the city’s East End.
At approximately 10:00 PM on September 5 in the 2200 block of East Broad Street, an unknown male robbed two women at gunpoint before fleeing the scene in a silver, four-door sedan. The suspect had a white sweater wrapped around his hand and indicated he had a gun.
At approximately 2:30 AM on September 11 in the 2200 block of East Cary Street, an unknown male brandished a firearm and threatened to shoot a man who was walking down the street. The suspect had a white piece of clothing wrapped around his hand and a white shirt wrapped around his face.
Based on incident details and the suspect’s description as a black male with a box-style haircut, detectives believe it was the same person.
Detectives ask anyone with any information about this man’s identity to call First Precinct Detective Brian Taylor at (804) 646-0689 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.

TAGGED: crime
Where was the picture taken – from a security camera at some point? I’m just curious. 2200 block of East Cary sounds like Tobacco Row, River Lofts, or perhaps a restaurant, and a lot of those buildings have security cameras.
I wish them luck in catching the guy.
