Minton moving to FMT, Sayles takes over Sector 111
As of this Saturday, Lt.Dan Minton will no longer be in charge of Sector 111, he will instead be taking over the investigative side of 1st Precinct. Lt.Jeremy Sayles will be taking the lead of Sector 111.
Sector 111 encompasses Church Hill, Chimborazo, Church Hill North, Fulton, Oakwood, and Union Hill.
Lt.Minton’s announcement from today:
It is with a heavy heart that I announce that I will no longer serve as the Sector 111 Lieutenant for the East End. Starting on the 20th, I will take over the Focus Mission Team (FMT) of 1st precinct. This encompasses the investigative side of the precinct to include the Bike Unit. This is fantastic opportunity to further serve the area and I am looking forward to the challenge.
It has been an amazing experience watching the transformation and revitalization that has occurred in the East End. I have no doubt that this positive movement will continue and that the partnership between the police department and the community will strengthen further.
I started my career in the East End as a patrolman and have always felt at home here. The people I have met have reinforced my faith in the spirit of a community to become empowered and make a difference. This sense of community has made me feel like a part of the East End family and has made the experience all the more enjoyable.
The good news is that the new Sector Lieutenant, Jeremy Sayles, is an academy mate of mine. With that said I know that it will be a smooth transition and that you are in capable hands. He brings a wealth of knowledge with him and a strong sense of pride in making the East End a better place to work, live, and play.
Yours in service,
Daniel Minton

We’ll miss you, Lt. Dan! Best of luck with the new opportunity.
We will so miss you Lt. Dan. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us!
Good luck Lt. Dan! You will be missed, but I am glad you will still be in the area. Welcome Lt. Sayles!
Dan, the same ease of accessibility and participation from Lt. Sayles?
Thanks for your past experience and addressing our concerns – along with your humor.
Lt Dan, all the best in your new undertaking. I am happy to know that as part of the Bike Patrol, we may be seeing more of you now.
It is truely spectacular and an honor to have a police presence that is dedicated to and integrated in, the community being served.
Good Luck!
Thank you for your service in the East End Lt. Minton, and good luck with your new responsibilities. You’re a credit to the RPD.
Welcome to the neighborhood Lt. Sayles.
Dan you are one of the best cops we’ve ever worked with here in Union Hill. Thank you for your continued service to this community. Looking forward to working with Lt Sayles!
Lt. Dan, obviously you will be missed, but please don’t leave the precinct! And Sayles need to meet everyone – is there any plan for that? Like another meeting at the park house or Robinson Theater or something?!
Left me clarify because I think a lot of people are confused…..
Lt is NOT leaving the area. He will be over the bike unit for ALL of the 1st precinct. The 1st has 3 sectors, one of which is us, 111. Lt Dan will still have our area in his area, he just has more space to cover, from belle island, to Manchester, to rockets landing to Fairfield.
Glad your still in the area Lt Dan! I jut hope your main area you cover is near us;)
Thank you, Lt. Dan and congratulations on your advancement and assumption of new responsibilities. We are grateful that you will continue to be in our community making it safer for all.
Thanks for everything LT! Best of luck!
Thank you for all that you’ve done and all that you will continue to do. It’s much appreciated.
