Richmond Rides offers bike tours of Church Hill in October
After months of fine tuning, a new bicycle tour company based out of the East End is starting to offer tours to the public.
Richmond Rides has two tours of Church Hill area scheduled for October 10th and 18th, each from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM.
REGISTER HERE for either of the tours.
Explore the past, Experience the Present, Imagine the Future (on a bike!)
Embrace the intersection of biking, good food, and history.
You’ll hear stories about many Heroes of Church Hill’s last 400+ years of history. The pace is leisurely and includes stops for food and drink along the way (including a chocolate shop!). Over lunch we reflect and discuss what we’ve seen and heard.
People of all ages (7-78) have enjoyed our tours. Tours are 3.5 hours long and include lunch from a local eatery.
The tours are BYOB (bring your own bike) but riders can rent bikes for $15 a person.

I want the bike tours and the segway tours to battle it out.
Loved this bike tour! Church Hill has such an incredible history, with so many of America’s major conflicts and growth represented throughout hundreds of years–in one beautiful place. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves history, Richmond, community or exploration!
Couldn’t agree more with Arielle’s sentiments above. I would also add that biking is a really interesting way to see the neighborhood on a tour. I also loved that the historical overview included the stories of specific people who impacted this area. The guides really encourage you to imagine specific areas at specific periods of time in history. Fun, friendly, informational and of course, the food was awesome.
Also, a great opportunity to meet new people in the neighborhood and catch up with others that you rarely see! The tour offers a nice balance of history, amusing stories, and time to ask questions.
This tour was very well done and the food was great! It is clear that the information and the path were carefully planned out–the tour was thought provoking, yet fun. I highly recommend it for individuals, couples or groups who are interested in learning more about Church Hill and the city of Richmond.
