Bicycle found, lawnmower stolen in Chimbo area
10/24/2014 11:42 AM by John M
The bike was found partially disassembled, but all pieces there – as well as an extra tire? (May be from a different bike). […] The bike and/or parts have been turned into the RPD found property department.

Our lawnmower was stolen [yesterday] some time between noon and 6pm (33rd between E Leigh and M St). It was locked to our back porch railing, and the cable lock was cut.
For reference, if anyone cares to keep their eyes peeled… It’s a Yard Machines 22″ red gas push mower, with self-drive. Told my wife I’m painting the next one fluorescent pink.
I also had my mower stole from my backyard in a locked fence area 6:21 am tuesday morning. It was two males. They traveled between both alleys between chimbo and 33rd street. Looked like it was planned and they knew what they were coming for. It was a cub cadet push mower, with auto start and drive assist. its yellow and black. I have them on video.
There was female walking what appeared to be a black and white dog, right across the street when this was happening. Looks like she was walking her dog from the lava lofts to chimbo park. This was right around 6:21am. If this was you please reach out to John, who can email me or send you my number
thanks!
We had a bike stolen on Tuesday in the 600 block of North 29th Street (between M & Leigh) from our side porch. Looks like thieves were busy in the area this week.
Ryan,
Please post your incident to the Church Hill Neightborhood Watch page

The more we keep track of these thefts and the items that were stolen, the more likelyhood the RPD will catch them!
@2 D, have you made a police report and shown them the video? If not please do so, thanks.
@crd
Yes I have, thanks! Please share the Church Hill Neighborhood Watch facebook page also, because it will be used as a log for theft and crime in the neightborhood!
Wanted to follow up on this (I’m the one with the stolen mower) after speaking with my neighbor last night about what happened. It turns out that she unknowingly witnessed the theft, thinking it was a guy who was trying to make some money with his own mower, but then later realized what had happened. The description of the thief isn’t worth much, but it is a middle-aged black male, average build. I mention that primarily in reference to the discussion of late about the juvenile thieves… at least in this case, it is not attributable to them.
