Council to consider Stone Brewing agreement, CAR appointments

Ord. No. 2014-203 (Patron: Mayor Jones) – To declare surplus and to direct the sale of City- owned real estate located at 313 North 24th Street and 2407 East Marshall Street for $250,000 to Sterling Bilder, LLC, for the purpose of the construction of a mixed-use development including commercial, residential and civic space. Recommendation from Planning Commission meeting to continue to Monday, November 3, 2014 Planning Commission meeting. (Continue to Monday, November 10, 2014 Council meeting)
Ord. No. 2014-209 (Patron: Mayor Jones) – To amend Ord. No. 2014-62-99, adopted May 27, 2014, which adopted a General Fund Budget for Fiscal Year 2014-2015 and made appropriations pursuant thereto, to transfer $50,000 from the Non-Departmental agency, Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation, Inc. – Chimborazo IB Program line item and to appropriate $50,000 to the Non-Departmental agency, Richmond Public Schools Education Foundation, Inc. – Armstrong Freshman Academy line item for the purpose of funding Armstrong High School’s Freshman Academy.
Ord. No. 2014-218 (Patron: Mayor Jones) – To authorize the Chief Administrative Officer, for and on behalf of the City of Richmond, to execute a Stone Brewing Company Performance Agreement between the City of Richmond, the Economic Development Authority of the City of Richmond and Koochenvagner’s Brewing Co., doing business as Stone Brewing Co., for the purpose of stimulating revitalization and promoting tourism in the City.
Res. No. 2014-R209 (Patron: Ms. Newbille) – To approve an expenditure in the amount of $765 from the Council Districts Funds for the Seventh District to pay the Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities for the cost of a permit to use Jefferson Park for an anniversary event as a gift to the Capital Area Partnership Uplifting People.
Res. No. 2014-R210 (Patron: All Members of Council) – To appoint Rebecca S. Aarons-Sydnor as a member of the Commission of Architectural Review (Better Housing Coalition nominee) for a term commencing upon adoption of this resolution and terminating Oct. 27, 2017, succeeding Mary Harding Sadler.
Res. No. 2014-R213 (Patron: All Members of Council) – To reappoint Sanford Bond as a member of the Commission of Architectural Review (Richmond Chapter of the American Institute of Architects nominee) for a term commencing Nov. 23, 2014, and terminating Nov. 23, 2017.
Res. No. 2014-R156 (Patron: Mr. Baliles) – To support efforts by the Economic Development Authority to negotiate with the desired intent to acquire the properties known as 103 Ambler Street, 1601 East Grace Street, 1600 East Franklin Street, 1604 East Franklin Street, 1606 East Franklin Street, 1610 East Franklin Street, 200 North 17th Street, 208 North 17th Street, 212 North 17th Street, 214 North 17th Street, 220 North 17th Street, 222 North 17th Street, 1715 East Grace Street, 300 Oliver Hill Way, 400 Oliver Hill Way, 510 Oliver Hill Way, 101 North 17th Street, 207 North 18th Street, 1800 East Grace Street, and 1609 East Franklin Street for the purpose of developing one or more facilities for commercial enterprises in order to promote economic development in Shockoe Bottom and the City.
