New Visions Civic League meets Saturday at East End Library

Live in the area bound by Carrington Street, 25th Street, Fairmount Avenue and 19th Street? Your civic association meets this Saturday, November 1, at 10:00 AM at the East End Library on 25th Street.

From NVCL president Mrs.Mary Thompson:

The body voted to present various items to the Hilliard House, which is our monthly service project. Whatever you plan to donate, bring to the meeting on Saturday. We will have a box for collecting your donations.

Various articles for donations can be:

• Clothes – slightly worn and in good condition (sizes do no matter)
• Childrens clothing
• Toiletries
• Household (sheets, towels, wash cloths, dish towels & cloths, blankets, etc.)
• Household cleaning projects
• Any other product you feel would be useful

(1) The Christmas Committee will present a report for your consideration.

(2) A speaker from Virginia Voice is expected to be present.

(3) Special Note from Clean City Commission
FREE Shredding Event – Saturday, November 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Social Services Parking Lot at Southside Plaza. Protect yourself by preventing identity theft. Take advantage of this service. Clean your house of clutter and take your boxes of paper to be shredded. You will get out of the meeting in time for you to do this.

Please make every effort to be on time by arriving no later than 10:15 a.m.
