Theft and vandalism on 26th Street over the weekend
11/10/2014 9:34 AM by John M
David has word of some bad juju on 26th Street this weekend:
Two of my neighbors (900 block of N. 26th St.) had their back sheds broken into over the weekend, and their lawn maintenance equipment (mowers, weed whackers, etc.) was stolen. […]
Also, during the hours of 8:00 last night and 8:00 this morning, someone smashed the windshield of my car (navy blue Hyundai Elantra). This was also in the 900 block of N. 26th St.
Please keep an eye out for anyone suspicious doing these sorts of things in your area.
Isn’t that about 2 blocks from the 1st Precinct police station? Great job RPD!
Yeah beccause RPD has time to stand out on the streets and just wait for crime to happen….stop bashing and maybe be an active participant in stopping some of these crimes.
Bobby – Try to quit being a jerk.
@ Karen: “…be an active participant in stopping some of these crimes.”
How do you propose that we do that? How can I be an active participant? Seriously, how do you stop someone with larceny in his/her heart from choosing to perpetrate crimes on our community? Do I try to intervene – and counsel them; shake some sense into them; or, umm…shoot them?
You can’t stop crime…the police can’t even stop crime. We, the law abiding citizens can only deal with the aftermath…picking-up the glass from a shattered car window; filling out a police report; making an insurance claim.
Please tell us how to stop crime? (Especially, when invoking our inner Charles Bronson is clearly not the best option.)
No mention of the robbery at Marshall and 31st on friday night around 10:30 PM. 3 people robbed at gunpoint. Stay safe out there, everybody. Apparently even being in groups isn’t enough to deter these crimes.

…was just a movie. Unless you’ve got a Pre-cog tucked away somewhere.
We live at 809 N 26th and our shed was broken into a couple of months ago. Seems to be the trend according to RPD.
@UnionHilliam…nailed it.
Anon, do you have any more information about the robbery at 31st and Marshall? I live very close and never heard anything about it.
