11/27/2014 7:15 AM by John M
Buy from locally-owned businesses this year and keeps dollars and jobs in the neighborhood! Here’s a simple list of local gift options that I could think of… Post any suggestions in the comments.

- A bottle of wine from Union Market, Metzger, Urban Farmhouse, or Dutch & Co.
- Something delicious from Chocolates by Kelly
- Something awesome from Era Vintage
- Something stylish from Runway Couture
- Bumble and Bumble hair products, gift boxes, styling brushes, or a gift certificate from Seven Hills Studio
- A gift certificate for Sukha Yoga classes, Bragda Pilates sessions, or a massage from Restore PT
- A gift certificate for any of the local restaurants, bakeries, or chocolatiers
- A headlight or other bicycle gear from Cyclus
- Tickets for a Richmond Rides Bike Tour or Real Richmond Food Tour
- Local art from Schindler Gallery
- A coffee cup from Proper Pie
- A growler from Union Market or Shine Craft
- A local t-shirt from Alamo BBQ, Cyclus, Metzger, Robinson Theater, WPA Bakery, or Armstrong Cycling
- A cornhole set or porch swing from Nehemiah’s Workshop
- A book, sticker, or shirt from the St. John’s gift shop
Restore-PT is having their annual Holiday Special of BOGO free massages. Purchase a 1-hour massage for a friend, family member, co-worker etc. and get one free for yourself. $65. Comes gift wrapped and ready to give.

Also the Valentine Museum does walking tours of Church Hill, so a gift certificate to a tour might be fun, particularly if you’ve got relatives coming to visit and want to show off the ‘hood. Also their newly reopened gift shop is stocked with lots of things pretty much all made in Richmond, and they are just across the MLK bridge, easily a bike ride away at 1015 East Clay St. Just a suggestion to augment the already awesome ideas here.
