Imagine the Gillie’s Creek Greenway
02/16/2015 6:15 AM by John M
Josh Mallow, a graduate student in VCU’s Master of Urban Planning and Regional Planning Program, presented a plan for the Gillie’s Creek Greenway at last week’s Greater Fulton Hill Civic Association meeting.
The proposal, similar to the East End Greenway idea floating around, would “connect the uphill neigborhoods of Oakwood and Church Hill North” to the James River and Virginia Capital Trail. The trail would be a paved path similar to the Cannon Creek Greenway in Northside.
The finished document slated for May 2015 will include an implementation strategy, with no timeline for construction at this time.

Easy river access would be great, but I’ve fallen in love with the Gillies Wilderness and I fear that Stone Brewing and a Greenway will ruin it. Ah progress. Maybe I should start a Gillies Wilderness Conservancy?
