Union Hill has a new dry cleaners
Union Hill has a new dry cleaners: C.Alexander’s Cleaners opened in mid-March on Venable Street.
The new shop is owned by Marian and Norbert Field, though they are not new to the neighborhood. They’ve owned the building for almost 20 years, and have lived upstairs for more than a decade. This is a next venture for the couple after careers in teaching and law enforcement.
C. Alexander’s Cleaners is dedicated to Marian’s father, Charles Alexander Harris, who she says “through his guidance and love he taught self-reliance and the ability to stand.”
The new dry cleaners is another addition to the list of businesses in the area that are owned or co-owned by women.
C.Alexander’s offers a variety of services, including dry cleaning, wet cleaning, shirt laundering, wedding gown cleaning and preservation, suede and leather cleaning, rug cleaning, and alteration.
They are open Monday-Friday 7AM-6PM, and Saturday 7AM-2PM.

I am so happy for the both of you! I am also glad to find a closer place that does rugs!
Anyone know what they charge for shirts or what the turnaround time is on that? Their website doesn’t mention and I’d rather not drag a whole bag over only to find out that it’s way higher than the other cleaners.
