New sign at East End Cemetery
06/29/2015 9:48 AM by John M
The diligent volunteers at East End Cemetery have recently acquired a nice new sign to grace their work site where they continue to fight back the forest on a weekly basis.
Just up the road, old Evergreen Cemetery is quickly growing back over, with even the two most prominent grave sites looking untended and shaggy.

Unfortunately, the group, from what I understand, was chased out of Evergreen after a dispute I believe over tree removal? Even family of Maggie Walker is unwilling to maintain the grave and at one time was working on having her grave moved but it proved too costly. Only volunteers were keeping it up. In the mean time I still try to work on ways to make something happen at Evergreen. Patience. For now, John and his team are working diligently on the adjoining East End Cemetery.
I agree with Eric, a hearty kudos to all the volunteers. I like “take one” information cards on the sign.
